EC: InduSoft Web Studio HMI, SCADA software
Software – HMI software: InduSoft Web Studio is scalable software from simple HMI to advanced SCADA with everything included—drivers, alarming, trending, VBScripting, database connectivity, and web publishing. This is a Control Engineering 2012 Engineers’ Choice award winner.
IWS is complete HMI/SCADA software, building on over 14 years of upward compatibility. Many new time-saving features were added to this version. Statistical Process Control (SPC) is now built into the trending feature. No programming is necessary; users just click an icon and can save hours by invoking SPC without writing scripts or formulas. In as few as three mouse clicks, the software provides valuable quality information desired during runtime.
Improved database connectivity is included at every level, from the smallest HMI to the largest supervisory system, keeping operators and supervisors efficient as they can stop walking to the shop floor just to enter data into a spreadsheet. In addition to Microsoft Access or Excel, any SQL database is supported.
InduSoft Web Studio allows users to create visually stunning displays with newly enhanced symbol libraries including switches, push-buttons, pilot lights, and meters. The development environment is now available in English, German, French, Portuguese, and Japanese. IWS is scalable from 150 tags (process variables) to over 10 million. Including the same powerful features in the smallest package as in the largest, IWS makes it easy for machine builders to be flexible in how they deploy. Little or no effort is required to flex between medium machines or small (fewer options), or even the full-featured, top-of-the-line machines.
Remote Web access allows operators and maintenance staff to be more efficient by viewing and interacting with process variables and alarms from any Web-enabled device such as an iPad, iPhone, or Android tablets/phones. Unparalleled support is a management top priority. In addition to live phone support and e-mail support, InduSoft offers free online videos, sample applications, offices on three continents and local distributors, and representatives and integrators across the globe.

Average salary across all job titles for plant floor management rose 3.5% to $95,446, and bonus compensation jumped to $15,162, a 4.2% increase from the 2010 level and double the 2011 total, which showed a sharp drop in bonus.
