EC: FPM-8151H Stainless Steel industrial monitor
Hardware – HMI, operator interface, thin-client: Advantech's FPM-8151H is a 15-in. 316 stainless steel C1D2 industrial monitor. This is a Control Engineering 2012 Engineers’ Choice award winner.
Advantech's FPM-8151H is a rugged XGA industrial monitor equipped to handle temperatures ranging from -20 C to 60 C. The stainless steel 316L front panel is NEMA4/IP65 compliant, providing better corrosion prevention ability than regular stainless steel, which makes it more suitable for environment required wash-downs. The monitor meets all the hazardous requirements with UL C1D2 certification. It has a combination RS-232 and USB interface for touchscreen functions, direct VGA and DVI-D video input interface, five-wire resistive touchpanel, and an OSD control pad with lockable function. The FPM-8151H is designed to safely operate in hazardous locations, making it ideal for the oil and gas industry.

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.
There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.
But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
