GE Critical Power's (NYSE: GE) isolated dc/dc power module, the JRCK017A0S32R0, offers 544 watts (W) with 95% efficiency and provides up to 17 amps of dc output current at a nominal output voltage of 32 volts dc. The Distributed-power Open Standards Alliance (DOSA)-compliant, half-brick form factor is optimized for high-voltage, high-power applications such as wireless and switch networks.
The JRCK017A0S32R0 also offers Tunable Loop, an optional feature that enables a user to optimize the dynamic response of the converter to match the load with reduced output capacitance. This feature enables original equipment manufacturers to reduce board space and overall product cost.

Annual Salary Survey
After almost a decade of uncertainty, the confidence of plant floor managers is soaring. Even with a number of challenges and while implementing new technologies, there is a renewed sense of optimism among plant managers about their business and their future.
The respondents to the 2014 Plant Engineering Salary Survey come from throughout the U.S. and serve a variety of industries, but they are uniform in their optimism about manufacturing. This year’s survey found 79% consider manufacturing a secure career. That’s up from 75% in 2013 and significantly higher than the 63% figure when Plant Engineering first started asking that question a decade ago.
