CFE Media and AABC to Provide Building Systems Content to Consulting Engineers

CFE Media and the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) will deliver specialized content for consulting engineers and engineering professionals looking for information about how the test and balance process can ensure that their building systems work as intended.

“AABC gives CFE the additional expertise in the test and balance of HVAC and related systems, a vital link in the delivery of energy-efficient, properly functioning buildings. The partnership is in line with CFE’s strategy to provide the right information, to the right audience, at the right time, and we look forward to providing our audiences with information that can help them do their jobs better,” said Steve Rourke, CEO, CFE Media.

CFE MediaThe partnership will focus on providing a complete breadth of information across functional, departmental, and application needs specifically related to the unique needs of professionals who are responsible for the detailed test and balance specifications covering proper field measurement, verification, and instrumentation needed to test HVAC systems.  

“AABC and CFE Media are natural partners in helping to inform specifying engineers about test and balance issues that are crucial for proper system operation,” said AABC President Michael Renovich. “By sharing the technical expertise of AABC’s certified members with a broader audience, as well as communicating the central importance of independence to ensuring accurate and unbiased test and balance services, ultimately this agreement will assist in optimizing building performance.”

As part of the agreement, CFE Media and AABC will exchange and promote content including videos, articles, and other industry updates. The marketing partnership will enable both groups to provide content and audience generation for suppliers aiming to reach this critical audience.

In a year when manufacturing continued to lead the economic rebound, it makes sense that plant manager bonuses rebounded. Plant Engineering’s annual Salary Survey shows both wages and bonuses rose in 2012 after a retreat the year before.

Average salary across all job titles for plant floor management rose 3.5% to $95,446, and bonus compensation jumped to $15,162, a 4.2% increase from the 2010 level and double the 2011 total, which showed a sharp drop in bonus.
