Ceiling-concealed indoor units
The PEFY-P72 and PEFY-P96 single-phase ducted indoor units by Mitsubishi Electric Cooling and Heating provide up to 60% energy savings.
Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating has updated its ceiling-concealed, ducted commercial indoor units, offering end users adjustable static pressure settings, extremely quiet operation, and high efficiency. These single-phase ducted indoor units (models PEFY-P72 and PEFY-P96) include a new motor that provides up to 60% energy savings over previous generation equipment, and static pressure settings up to 1 in. (with voltage changes) that provide flexibility for duct extension, branching, and air outlet configuration. Other features of the unit include dual setpoint functionality, single-phase power, reduced noise (36 to 46 dBA), and multiple fan speed. The ceiling-concealed indoor units can be used with all of Mitsubishi Electric’s Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) zoning outdoor units and can be monitored through the CITY MULTI Controls Network.

Annual Salary Survey
After almost a decade of uncertainty, the confidence of plant floor managers is soaring. Even with a number of challenges and while implementing new technologies, there is a renewed sense of optimism among plant managers about their business and their future.
The respondents to the 2014 Plant Engineering Salary Survey come from throughout the U.S. and serve a variety of industries, but they are uniform in their optimism about manufacturing. This year’s survey found 79% consider manufacturing a secure career. That’s up from 75% in 2013 and significantly higher than the 63% figure when Plant Engineering first started asking that question a decade ago.
