Automatic transfer switches
Russelectric RTS Series 30- and 3-cycle rated automatic transfer switches
Russelectric RTS Series 30-cycle-rated and 3-cycle-rated automatic transfer switches (ATS) now come equipped with the company’s RPTCS microprocessor automatic transfer switch system. In addition to standard features, each system is programmed to include customer-specified options. The intuitive, interactive menu guides the user through controller setup and the entering of configuration data, including communications and timing setpoints, adjustable control parameters (interlocks, alarms, and security), and event logging. The RPTCS can also monitor power quality with waveform capture and historical trending. The controller senses the voltages of both power sources and indicates switch position and source availability. Through the menu, users can review operational data and configuration settings. The controller also automatically displays the status of monitored conditions (faults, alarms) and conveys other messages at the top of the screen. The RPTCS controller supports standard Modbus RTU or available Modbus TCP/IP via 10/100 Base-T Ethernet.

But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
