ArchestrA Workflow program receives new capabilities
Invensys' new version of ArchestrA, 1.1, is designed to streamline business operation and make things more efficient
Invensys Operations Management released ArchestrA Workflow Version 1.1, its latest business process management solution for industrial enterprise. The new version adds integration to IntelaTrac, the company’s mobile solution, and its Wonderware Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Operations and Performance solution. Now, manufacturing and process companies can reportedly drive better accountability, more consistent operations and improved regulatory compliance through a workflow software solution integrated with their existing automation and plant information systems.

ArchestrA Workflow software is an advanced workflow application that helps computerize manual and automated industrial processes that involve people and systems. A highly flexible solution, ArchestrA Workflow reportedly allows workers to participate in approved workflows regardless if they are mobile, behind a desk or out operating the plant. The solution has broad connectivity with plant floor and corporate systems so the entire workflow process can be modeled, executed, analyzed and improved. Workflows can be linked to a wide range of plant automation and other plant systems so workers can participate in a workflow without having to leave what they are doing, enhancing collaboration and process consistency.

2012 Salary Survey
In a year when manufacturing continued to lead the economic rebound, it makes sense that plant manager bonuses rebounded. Plant Engineering’s annual Salary Survey shows both wages and bonuses rose in 2012 after a retreat the year before.
Average salary across all job titles for plant floor management rose 3.5% to $95,446, and bonus compensation jumped to $15,162, a 4.2% increase from the 2010 level and double the 2011 total, which showed a sharp drop in bonus.
