APC, PLANT ENGINEERING host Roundtable at PowerGen

The issue of power quality inside and outside of a plant floor will be the topic of discussion as American Power Conversion and PLANT ENGINEERING magazine sponsor a Roundtable discussion at the annual PowerGen show. The event will be held on Wednesday , Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. in room S230E of the Orange County Convention Center.

The issue of power quality inside and outside of a plant floor will be the topic of discussion as American Power Conversion and PLANT ENGINEERING magazine sponsor a Roundtable discussion at the annual PowerGen show. The event will be held on Wednesday , Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. in room S230E of the Orange County Convention Center.

The Roundtable will be moderated by PLANT ENGINEERING editor Bob Vavra. It will feature Dr. Louis Scampavia, HTS Lead ID of Scripps Florida, a division of The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA. Scripps Florida is a biomedical research institute in Jupiter, FL that was affected by Hurricane Wilma a year ago. The effect of power loss on a research facility can be devastating, and Dr. Scampavia will discuss the importance of power quality at his facility.

Representatives from APC and Schneider Electric also are expected to participate in the open discussion on power quality issues and the ways manufacturers can protect their plants.
