Adept's Dulchinos re-elected to RIA board
John Dulchinos, president and chief operating officer of Adept Technology, has been elected to serve for his second term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Robotics Industry Association (RIA).
John Dulchinos, president and chief operating officer of Adept Technology , has been elected to serve for his second term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Robotics Industry Association (RIA). Dulchinos, who previously served as a member of the RIA Board, started his two year term in January 2008.
“I am honored to have been elected by the RIA members to serve on the Board of Directors,” said Dulchinos. “The RIA is a tremendous organization and has done an excellent job executing initiatives to support the growth of robotics in North America. With the latest advancements in technology and in emerging application areas it is a great time to be in robotics.”
Founded in 1974, the RIA representing approximately 270 robotics manufacturers, component suppliers, system integrators, end users, research groups and consulting firms.

Annual Salary Survey
After almost a decade of uncertainty, the confidence of plant floor managers is soaring. Even with a number of challenges and while implementing new technologies, there is a renewed sense of optimism among plant managers about their business and their future.
The respondents to the 2014 Plant Engineering Salary Survey come from throughout the U.S. and serve a variety of industries, but they are uniform in their optimism about manufacturing. This year’s survey found 79% consider manufacturing a secure career. That’s up from 75% in 2013 and significantly higher than the 63% figure when Plant Engineering first started asking that question a decade ago.
