You may be wondering what this has to do with you. Business people today are coping with unprecedented change. The rules are unfamiliar. Competition is intensifying. Markets fragment. Currencies fluctuate. Product cycles shorten. New companies threaten established giants. The risks increase.
Our staff on Plant Engineering makes it our business to provide you with the critical, timely information you need to succeed in this environment. We watch technologies and trends so that we can bring you the ideas and guidance to help you in your decisions. Editorially, we put ideas into context, monitor trends, and add insights and facts. On the sales side, we encourage companies to keep you informed of their products and services through advertising. Overall, we try to anticipate your interests and provide the kind of information you need when you need it.
Our new logo is intended to reflect all of this.

In a year when manufacturing continued to lead the economic rebound, it makes sense that plant manager bonuses rebounded. Plant Engineering’s annual Salary Survey shows both wages and bonuses rose in 2012 after a retreat the year before.
Average salary across all job titles for plant floor management rose 3.5% to $95,446, and bonus compensation jumped to $15,162, a 4.2% increase from the 2010 level and double the 2011 total, which showed a sharp drop in bonus.
