Rotary encoder for offshore motion applications
Leine and Linde's IXA 648 is an inductive absolute encoder that avoids magnets and glass to provide a measurement technology that can withstand high temperatures, shock, and vibrations for offshore motion applications in harsh environments.
Leine & Linde’s IXA 648 absolute rotary encoder is designed for use in hazardous applications in the oil and gas industry and other applications where extreme conditions such high temperature and pressure, salty corrosive atmosphere and potentially explosive environments, are common. The IXA 648 is an inductive absolute encoder that avoids magnets and glass to provide a measurement technology that can withstand high temperatures, shock and vibrations. Its inductive scanning system also makes it insensitive to contamination. This encoder can communicate with a control using Profibus, Profinet, CANopen, DeviceNet, SSI, or an EnDat interface. Typical oil and gas equipment applications for the IXA 648 include winches, cranes, top drives, drawworks, racking systems, thrusters, and anchors. The encoder is rated for operation up to 6000rpm and 70 C. The flameproof encapsulation, flange and shaft use AISI 316L Stainless Steel for corrosion resistance. The encoder is available with both solid shaft and hollow shaft in different sizes to meet application requirements.
