The Maxstar 161 series welding power source is designed for stick and TIG applications and to provide lightweight portability. At just 13 pounds, the compact machine has an upgraded handle/shoulder strap allowing the operator to easily move the machine from location to location. It also has a digital meter that is designed for precise control when presetting or monitoring welding amperage. The power source includes improvements that provide superior stick arc performance which allows welding operators to keep the arc lit even on difficult-to-run electrodes such as E6010. The machine detects if the electrode is stuck to the part and turns the welding output off to safely remove the electrode.
