Proud of a control panel you designed or built?
Control Engineering Control Panel Design Contest is accepting entries through noon March 31, 2011.
Machine builders: Do you build control panels or work with a panel builder? Panel builders: Want to show your expertise? End-users are you proud of a control panel you designed or built? Do others regularly ask you for control panel help?
If you answered yes to one or more of those questions, please consider sharing expertise with others through the Control Engineering Control Panel Design Contest. Submit a tutorial video, 5-minute or less in length, to Control Engineering by noon on March 31, 2011, following the official rules.
Everything you need to know is linked to the Control Panel Design Contest page, including recommendations and guidelines, last year’s finalists and winner, and the official rules. All finalists will remain linked to the page, get mentioned in May monthly edition of Control Engineering, and be open for viewing and voting April 4 – June 14.
After voting, finalists will remain linked to the Control Panel Design Contest and in the Control Engineering video library, until at least next year (likely longer). The winner will be highlighted in greater detailed in a future monthly edition of Control Engineering.
Have a good idea for a tutorial video on another topic? We're also accepting non-commercial tutorial videos on other automation, controls, and instrumentation subjects. Follow the specifications provided for the control panel tutorial video (except for the deadlines and topic, of course). Accepted videos will be made available in the Control Engineering video library at www.controleng.com/videos.

But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
