Fluke introduces the 700G Series for high accuracy in harsh environments.Fluke Corporation, a leader in portable electronic test and measurement technology, has introduced its 700G Series precision pressure test gages: nine easy-to-use, rugged, and reliable models that deliver highly accurate pressure measurements in the harshest industrial environments.

The 700G Series models can measure -14 to 15 psi with a resolution of 0.001 psi (model 700G04) to -14 to 10,000 psi with a 1 psi resolution (model 700G31) with a 0.05% total measurement uncertainty for one year, providing pressure testing for virtually any application. They can log up to 8,493 pressure measurements to memory when used in conjunction with 700G/Track software.

All models feature a bright backlit display for easy viewing of data in any environment, ¼ in. NPT or ¼ in. ISO adapter for fast connections, and a rubber holster that protects the gage and makes it easier to hold. All units in the family have an intrinsically safe rating of CSA: Class1, Div 2, Groups A-D and ATEX: II 3 G Ex nA IIB T6 for work in areas classified to include explosive gasses.

Pressure test kits

The 700G Series offers two optional test kits to provide complete pressure testing solutions. The 700PTPK pneumatic test kit and 700HTPK hydraulic test kit include hand pumps, hoses, and adapters, and can be combined with any 700G Series gage to create complete, portable test systems. Both kits include a hard case to protect the pump and gage while allowing the gage to remain connected to the pump.

For users who need to record and analyze pressure measurements over time, Fluke 700G/TRACK logging software allows logging data to be downloaded to a PC. Logging configurations can be downloaded to 700G Series gages for remote logging events. Those measurements can then be uploaded and displayed on a PC, or exported for further analysis. 700G/TRACK includes a cable for communications to a PC.

Annual Salary Survey

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.

There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.

But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
