Pepperl+Fuchs introduces the Diagnostics Add-On Instruction for Allen-Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers. With this free download, PLC programmers can retrieve detailed diagnostic data from an AS-Interface safety monitor with just three instructions.

AS-Interface safety monitors are configurable to perform complex logic and timing operations and replace hardwired conventional safety controllers. "Pepperl+Fuchs developed this add-on software to further simplify the already flexible and powerful AS-Interface Safety at Work technology, said Tim Cicerchi, product manager, industrial bus and ID systems.
"Additionally, because we want every AS-Interface user to have the best experience possible, this add-on Instruction is compatible with competitive AS-Interface Safety at Work SafetyMonitors, not just Pepperl+Fuchs SafetyMonitors ," Cicerchi said.
AS-Interface Safety at Work is an integral part of a normal AS-Interface network and does not require a separate system. It enables safety data to run over the same physical network as other data. With it, the user gains the ability to: place safety where needed, even late in the project; monitor the status of the safety inputs and the safety relay; associate multiple safety inputs with one relay; and associate one input with multiple relays.
