Digital Edition

System Integrators
This third and final installment of the Automation in Packaging Benchmark Study focuses on system integrators, and the role they play coordinating projects for packagers, equipment builders and automation suppliers. Packaging is a specialty that manufacturers in virtually every industry must address. Control Engineering and Packaging Digest set out to investigate this dynamic market through the Automation in Packaging Benchmark Study, a three-part, year-long research project conducted by Reed Research Group. This 360 degree overview of the state of packaging automation reveals the technology, market drivers and business issues affecting packagers, equipment builders and system integrators. System integrators - a small, but influential group - provides hands-on help for system design, manufacture and installation. They also offer multi-industry insights to help packagers obtain the optimal solution for automating their production

Executive Summary

Packaging Digest and Control Engineering have conducted a comprehensive research study addressing the technology, market, and business issues affecting the state of packaging automation. This is the third and final wave of a three-part study conducted in 2008. This third installment of the Automation in Packaging Benchmark Study focuses on system integrators and the role they play coordinating projects for packagers, equipment builders and automation builders. This report is an executive summary of the study results, providing an overview of key findings related to machine builders’ demographics, types of automation incorporated into their machines and customer buying behaviors that influence their products.

Integrators Profile

This report provides graphical depictions of survey data covering system integrators: roles of integrators, where the can offer expertise, types of automation equipment used, and important aspects of automation now and over the next five years.

Buying Behaviors

This detailed findings report provides graphical depictions of survey data covering how packagers’ decide to hire system integrators and how much leeway the integrators have in designing and assembling an integrated packaging line.

Study Comparisons

This detailed findings report provides graphical depictions comparing survey data gathered from all three surveys, comparing responses from packagers, machine builders and system integrators.
