- Redundancy capabilities;
- Managing multicast traffic;
- Isolating network traffic;
- Wireless options and areas of application;
- Network security;
- Network management issues;
- Physical layer cabling and testing for reliable Ethernet network design;
- Switch selection and functionality, and passive versus active technologies;
- Migrating legacy devices to Ethernet;
- Ethernet , fiber-optic, and non-Ethernet network cabling options; and
- Industry-specific needs or considerations for petrochemical, automotive, and power generation, transmission and distribution.
Belden will address these and other industrial Ethernet topics in detail in its Hirschmann 2010 Mission Critical Network Design Seminar, Sept. 19-22, 2010, at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld Hotel in Orlando, FL. 2012 Salary Survey
In a year when manufacturing continued to lead the economic rebound, it makes sense that plant manager bonuses rebounded. Plant Engineering’s annual Salary Survey shows both wages and bonuses rose in 2012 after a retreat the year before.
Average salary across all job titles for plant floor management rose 3.5% to $95,446, and bonus compensation jumped to $15,162, a 4.2% increase from the 2010 level and double the 2011 total, which showed a sharp drop in bonus.
