CES 2012 is on our doorstep!

An overview of upcoming events in 2012 including the CES show in Las Vegas and the Consumer Telematics Show.

IMS Research LogoSo it’s been another year and the 2012 CES show is almost upon us. Showcasing the hottest consumer products to be hitting our shelves in the next year, and with an increasing focus on automotive systems both from OEM and aftermarket suppliers, it is certainly one of the shows on the electronics industry calendar.

This year, IMS Research will have a strong presence at the show with 16 analysts from various groups in attendance, including Jack Bergquist and Alastair Hayfield from the Automotive and Transport group.

Jack will also be attending the Consumer Telematics Show on Monday January 9, 2012, hosted by Telematics Update which promises to be a great introduction to all things automotive at CES for the rest of the week.

IMS Research will also be holding an exclusive “meet the analysts” cocktail party at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in the evening of January 9, 2012 which promises to be one of the hottest events of the week.

Jack Bergquist will be adding further blog entries during the week, so if you have not been able to attend, but would like to keep up to date with an analyst view of the latest automotive developments at CES, keep checking back here for updates.

If you are at the show and would like to book a meeting with Jack or Alastair, please contact Jack Bergquist at Jack.Bergquist(at)IMSResearch.com

Annual Salary Survey

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.

There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.

But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
