  !Process manufacturing, automation, DCS market remain strong
The market for process manufacturing and automation remains strong despite global economic concerns. A leading indication of this strength is the global distributed control system (DCS) market, which grew by almost 13% between 2006 and 2007 and is expected to grow through 2012 with the overall CAGR of just under 10%, according to a new ARC Advisory Group study.
  !Minnesota manufactured exports increased during first quarter
Minnesota manufactured exports increased to $4.2 billion in the first quarter of 2008, which was 8.5% higher than the same period a year ago. The Minnesota Dept. of Employment and Economic Development reported that due to increased sales of transportation equipment, processed foods and computer and electronic goods.
