!The road to sustainability
Sustainability is a big deal. It’s more than just being energy efficient. It’s more than just recycling or making sure the lights are turned off at the end of the production day. In the cover story of Plant Engineering’s February issue, senior editor Kevin Campbell discusses how sustainability is all of these characteristics and more, wrapped up into a single strategy that will help manufacturing facilities remain profitable and ensure their viability in the years and decades ahead.

Electrical Safety Webcast: You've Completed an Arc Flash Study, Now What?
You've completed an arc flash study. Now what?

You realize the safety concern, business risk and cost of an arc flash incident. You've taken some steps to address it and you've discovered several potential areas in your facility where the hazards are great. But have you evaluated the solutions? Are you aware that you have many options to mitigate high risk areas? An arc flash safety program is more than just compliance to OSHA mandates. It should be a pro-active program that integrates a wide range of solutions into a comprehensive plan to minimize the personnel safety and business risks posed by Arc Flash incidents.

This webcast will provide the framework for a new way of looking at the problem from a broader perspective. We will feature arc flash mitigating techniques ranging from equipment labeling and personnel training, through solutions that reduce the available fault current, shorten fault clearing time, move people away from the arc, redirect the arc fault and even prevent the fault from occurring in the first place. We will also give you a look at the problem from a federal/regulatory viewpoint and we will offer some insights from people at the plant level who grapple with this issue every day.

Register today! If you're busy that day, register anyway and view the webcast on-demand.

Class Zero
Process manufacturers, their suppliers and federal agencies are always looking for the tightest safeguards to maintain the balance between safety and productivity. The use of food-grade lubricants is one solution, but eliminating oil from the process is an even higher goal.

The air compressor industry is meeting international testing requirements to eliminate any oil contamination in the process industries – not just food, but petrochemical, semiconductor and pharmaceutical manufacturing as well. Meeting the Class Zero designation from testing agency TUV is an important step in assuring non contamination in these critical manufacturing processes.
