!MES Roundtable from Plant Engineering Summit now online
One of the hot technologies in manufacturing is manufacturing execution systems, and one of the hot questions is how you measure value for the investment in MES. !MES supplier CIMNET shows 23% growth
Manufacturing execution system provider CIMNET announced solid growth for the first quarter of 2007. Revenue was up 23% to just over $1.2 million for the quarter ending March 31, 2007. The company has increased administrative and R&D costs with increased staff and a move to CIMNET’s new corporate facility. “As always, we continued to further develop our core technologies,” said CIMNET CEO John Richardson. “In addition in the first quarter of 2007, CIMNET successfully moved its business operations to a larger, more scalable facility to meet the demands of our current growth.”
!Aberdeen study looks at data collection
The issue of plant floor visibility is one Plant Engineering magazine will tackle in its May issue. A new study by the Aberdeen Group looks at how data collected on the plant floor is transferred throughout the enterprise, and how best-in-class manufacturers use that data . Among the issues discussed: • Which pieces of plant floor data are collected? • How is plant floor data collected? • Which job roles and functional groups within the enterprise utilize plant floor data? • How is technology utilized in regard to shop floor data? May 18 is the deadline to offer a presentation for MESA’s annual Plant-To-Enterprise Conference: Integration to Innovation on Sept. 16-18, at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, Orlando.
