Proximity sensors

-- Plant Engineering, 5/15/2008

Linearized AlphaProx sensors detect metallic objects at ranges of up to 16 millimeters and detect changes in position, distance, thickness, weight or pressure. The sensors feature a teach-in function that allows the user to adjust the usable measuring range and select the direction of the output slope. The sensor’s resolution of 10 microns allows them to switch between analog and digital output, and their IP67-rated chromium-steel housing withstands exposure to contaminants such as water, oil, dirt, non-metallic particles, dust and fibers.
