Stepper Drives with graphical interface

-- Plant Engineering, 12/19/2007 1:16:00 PM

ST10-Si stepper drives deliver 24-80 Vdc with an output current of up to 10 A peak. The drives are designed to protect against overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemp and external output shorts. The drives are programmable for stand-alone operation with Windows-based software. A graphical point-and-click format combines motion, I/O and operator interface functionality for simple machine sequencing. Features include Microstep Emulation, which allows users with a need for low step resolutions to benefit from smooth motion; Torque Ripple Smoothing, which negates the effect of inherent low-speed torque ripple for much smoother motion at lower speeds; and Dynamic Smoothing, which can soften the effects of immediate changes in velocity and direction for less jerky motion while reducing wear on mechanical components. The drives provide eight digital inputs and four digital outputs. Option boards are available to add encoder feedback and RS485 functionality. The encoder feedback option board delivers motor stall detection, stall prevention and position maintenance.
