Manufacturing Summit seminars focus on sustainability, workforce development

When the 2008 PLANT ENGINEERING Manufacturing Summit convenes in Chicago March 31 and April 1, the focus will be on two of the most crucial issues facing plant managers today: creating a sustainable workplace and developing a stronger workforce.
Registration for the 2008 Manufacturing Summit, sponsored by IBM, is now open.
Energy experts and plant managers who have succeeded in building a sustainable workplace will be highlighted at the March 31 seminar on sustainability that opens the 2008 Summit. Also on March 31 will be a look at how plant managers can get their arms around data management, and what happens when they don’t.
On Tuesday, April 1, a roundtable breakfast features discussion about the challenges facing today’s aging workforce and how to attract skilled personnel for today’s high-tech manufacturing jobs.
Among other events planned for this year’s Summit:
- A Monday night gala banquet, featuring the presentation of the 2007 Product of the Year awards, honoring the choices of PLANT ENGINEERING's readers
- A Tuesday morning breakfast, honoring the 2007 Top Plant winners.
