Product of the Year Facts:

In the contest’s 20 years:

  • More than 840 products from more than 400 companies have been honored.
  • In the first contest year of 1988, there were nine categories. In 1991, the number of categories increased to 16. Today there are 18 categories.
  • New Pig has won the most Product of the Year awards with 16. Other companies with more than 10 Product of the Year awards: Fluke (12), Ingersoll Rand (12), Atlas Copco (10), Baldor Electric (10) and Hilti (10).
  • Datastream won five consecutive Gold Awards from 1993 through 1997.
  • Littelfuse is the only three-time winner of the Grand Award, in 1994, 1995 and 1998.
