Bearing protection
-- Plant Engineering, 11/15/2007
Under the terms of a new program, up to 1,000 bearing isolators can be supplied to process plants on a trial basis. The non-contacting compound labyrinth seals are comprised of a unitized rotor and stator and accommodate retrofit of rotating equipment. As part of the program, plants install the seals over a pre-determined period of time. The supplier shares one-half of net savings, based on historical plant data – determined independently – over a 36-month period.
