Medium-voltage outdoor drive
-- Plant Engineering, 11/15/2007
MTX NEMA 3R MV medium-voltage adjustable speed drives can be used outdoors without a building. The drive is able to withstand extreme weather conditions. It has two enclosure types “married” together. The transformer section is convection cooled. There are no moving parts, and heat is eliminated through passive vents at the top of the drive. The inverter section is forced-air cooled using non-CFC cooling components. The power modules are designed with “out-the-back” heat sinks.
