Clamp-type collars
By Staff -- Plant Engineering, 10/1/2006
Clamp-type collars are a suitable replacement for set-screw collars, which concentrate tightening pressure and can damage some materials. Featuring a smooth bore, the clamp-style collars can be used as stops or spacers, and for mounting components on stainless steel and acrylic shafts or thin-wall tubing. They provide a sure grip and allow adjustments without dimpling, scratching or gouging. The non-marring collars are designed to evenly distribute holding power and are available in steel, plated steel, stainless steel and aluminum versions. They come in standard bore sizes from 1/8 to 6 inches I.D. Metric sizes range from 3 to 75 mm I.D.
