Plant Engineering earns three awards in ASBPE competition

By Staff -- Plant Engineering, 8/1/2006

PLANT ENGINEERING magazine received three writing awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors, including two national awards presented at the ASBPE convention in Chicago July 20.

Senior editor Jack Smith received two awards: a Midwest-South Regional silver award in the Feature Series category for his stories on circuit fundamentals, and a national silver award in the Individual or Company Profile category for his story on DaimlerChrysler receiving the 2005 Top Plant Award from the magazine. Editor Bob Vavra received a national bronze award in the News Analysis category for his story on energy efficiency in manufacturing. There were more than 2,600 entries in the national ASBPE contest this year

“We are pleased to receive recognition from our peers,” said PLANT ENGINEERING publisher Jim Langhenry. “Our primary focus is to make sure our readers are well-served by our stories, and this award from the ASBPE is one more indication of that.”
