PLANT ENGINEERING appoints Campbell, Bonfante to editorial posts

By Staff -- Plant Engineering, 4/1/2006

PLANT ENGINEERING magazine has named Kevin Campbell as senior editor, with responsibility for covering mechanical, maintenance and management news and issues. Senior editor Jack Smith will continue to cover the automation and electrical sections of the magazine.

"The addition of Kevin to our editorial team allows us to continue to serve our readers at the highest level," said PLANT ENGINEERING editor Bob Vavra. "His background makes him ideally suited to help us continue to deliver information to our readers in print, online and electronically.

"Our goal at PLANT ENGINEERING is to provide our readers with the information to achieve manufacturing excellence every day, in every part of their plant," Vavra said. "Jack Smith is a recognized expert in the industry, as seen by his presentations at National Manufacturing Week and in our successful electrical Webcast series. As Kevin and Jack focus their efforts in specific channels of the manufacturing process, I believe we will provide PLANT ENGINEERING subscribers with the tools they need to meet their goals on the plant floor."

Campbell is a graduate of Bradley University and worked for Consumers Digest Online until joining Packaging Digest, a Reed Business Information magazine, in 2000. He was named associate editor at Packaging Digest in 2004. He and his wife Gillian have two sons, Payton and Kyler.

Campbell succeeds Joe Foszcz, who retired from PLANT ENGINEERING in 2005.

The magazine has also named Ana Bonfante as production editor, with responsibilities including new products and e-newsletters. "Ana is a talented journalist and a skilled production leader, and she will help us grow our electronic products while building on our high-quality print product," Vavra said.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Bonfante has served as newsletter editor for the La Casa Cultural Center in Champaign, IL, earned an internship with the Chicago Tribune, and worked for Deloitte & Touche as an editor before joining PLANT ENGINEERING.
