Activplant names Williams CEO

By Staff -- Plant Engineering, 4/1/2006

Performance management solution company Activplant has named Ted Williams as the company's new chief executive officer. Williams joins Activplant from Computer Associates and worked at MRO Software for 11 years, will lead the company's strategic direction and business growth effective immediately, the company said in a statement. Williams succeeds Dennis Cocco, the current CEO and President, who will assume the role of Chief Product Strategist.

The transition is part of a growth plan announced by Cocco in July 2005. As Chief Product Strategist, Cocco will apply his industry knowledge and technology expertise to create solutions that drive immediate value for customers.

"Activplant is poised for explosive growth, and Ted's solid track record in creating strong market demand will help build on our current momentum and bring us to new levels of success," said Cocco. "We're thrilled to welcome someone of his caliber to our team."

"Activplant possesses the key ingredients for success: a fast-growing customer base with some of the largest manufacturers in the world, a management team with deep industry knowledge and an innovative product suite," said Williams. "The market potential for Activplant is vast and I'm looking forward to working with the Activplant team on extending its footprint in the manufacturing intelligence space."
