Hurricane Katrina job assistance sites
The National Association of Manufacturers has partnered with Monster.com to create a customized Website to help survivors, volunteers, public and private sector employers, and volunteer organizations post and find jobs, volunteer time, and provide help to communities in need. The site, hurricanerelief.monster.com, includes re-employment opportunities specifically for Katrina survivors and/or positions to help rebuild the areas devastated by the Hurricane. "We hope this resource assists the relief and rebuilding effort in the wake of Katrina," said NAM President John Engler. "Working with the Department of Homeland Security, manufacturers are leading the way in offering supplies, and now, employment in the restoration and rebuilding effort."
Also, the U.S. Department of Labor has a job assistance Website for workers impacted by the hurricane by connecting them with employers who want to hire them. It will also support the hiring associated with critical clean-up efforts in impacted areas.
