Dual Power Source

By Staff -- Plant Engineering, 5/1/2004

I acknowledge the fact that the "Dual Power Source" of the Solutions section of the March 2004 issue of Plant Engineering was designed to show how the alligator clips could be used as the main power connection for the portable air compressor in place of a cigarette lighter plug-in.

However, please be advised that if it was the other way around, the alligator clips will be live when using the cigarette lighter plug-in, and should be wrapped in electrical tape or pulled completely into the protective sleeves of said alligator clips. Otherwise, damage via a short circuit could happen to either the primary circuit battery or to the lift truck battery.-Rich Washkevich
