SolutionsI enjoy your magazine, especially the "Solutions" article. This is the first thing that I look for in your magazine.
I have just received your Dec 2003 issue and was reading the "Solutions" section and your solution to portable air tank I do not quite agree with. Using a used propane tank for anything else is not only dangerous, but in some states may be illegal. I am not an expert on this, put I know that on the gas tank of my gas grill it states not to be used for anything else.— Daniel R. Seidel
Editor's note: According to a member of ASME's tank section, home use propane tanks have no allowance for corrosion in their wall thickness. Using them for compressed air is an accident waiting to happen.
In your "Solutions" column in the November 2003 issue, it appears that you will create a material that will be difficult to dispose of "correctly." Throwing it away with the liquid in it exposes the disposer to the possibility of violation of EPA regulations that prohibit disposal of liquids.— Gordon Tooley
