They increase your productivity on the job, maximize your efficiency, and make your life less stressful.

This month, we present 150 products that impact the way you work — the finalists in our 16th annual "Product of the Year" contest.

To be a candidate for this competition, the product must have been available for purchase between October 1, 2002, and September 30, 2003; be new to the world market; and be useful in the plant engineering function.

The PLANT ENGINEERING "Product of the Year" Award is a well-recognized, well-respected honor that has been bestowed upon more than 500 products in the last 15 yr.

You determine the winners

Our panel of experts has narrowed the entries to 150 finalists. Now the contest relies solely on your input — your vote. The ballot next to p 50 will guide you through the voting process. Write in the vote number for the product you think is the best in each of 15 categories.

The product that receives the highest number of votes overall will be our Grand Award winner. The votes in each category will then be tallied to determine Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners. Awards will be presented at a black-tie reception during the 2004 National Plant Engineering & Facilities Management Show (February 23-26, 2004 McCormick Place, Chicago, IL; www.manufacturingweek.com).

You could win $100

Just mail your ballot by December 15!

You could win a $100 prize just by voting in the 15th annual Plant Engineering "Product of the Year" competition. We will award a $100 gift check to each of 10 lucky voters. Winners will be selected by a random drawing from ballots we receive postmarked by December 15, 2003. Only original ballots from qualified subscribers will be considered for the drawing.
