Low-harmonic ac drive
ACS550 series variable speed ac drive combines simplicity, convenience, fieldbus connectivity, harmonic mitigation, and programmability with multiple motor control modes and a 1_550-hp range. The removable control panel resembles a mobile phone, featuring multilingual text, graphic display, drive monitoring, parameter setup, and multicontroller copy functions. The drive reduces harmonics by up to 25%, compared to conventional filter designs. Its software enables fast setup, simple configuration, rapid fault diagnosis with repair suggestions, and energy consumption monitor.

Generator enclosures
A new line of enclosures for 230_500-kW generator sets is designed to protect from foul weather, attenuate sound, speed installation, and reduce costs. The enclosures feature steel construction, stainless steel hardware, lockable access doors, protected exhaust systems, and side-mounted generator controls.

Heat-shrink tubing
Heavy-Wall polyolefin heat-shrink tubing features a thermoplastic sealant that creates an environmental seal and protection from moisture, dirt, and corrosive substances. The tubing, which can be imprinted for identification, has a 3:1 shrink ratio to fit snugly over terminals and provide cable strain relief. It comes in black and red.

DC flywheel
Model VSS-120 flywheel power system provides a stable, reliable, low maintenance, extended life dc voltage source to condition or replace batteries in uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems. As a battery conditioner, it minimizes battery discharge whiplash effects, while preserving battery capacity. In some situations, the flywheel system can replace batteries. The system delivers 2400 kW-sec of energy, sufficient to support loads from 120 kW for 20 sec to 10 kVA for 5 min. It requires 6 sq ft of floor space and is designed to operate for 15 yr before any major service is required.
