At the end of this month in New Orleans, ISA Expo/2000 will feature nearly 750 displays and more than 140 cutting edge presentations and seminars on a wide range of instrumentation, automation, and control topics. As the spotlight trains on these products and services, it seemed like an opportune time to look at some of the information offered at the show and through the web sites of some of the participating vendors and service providers. Whether you'll be travelling to the Crescent City or letting your fingers take you on a virtual tour, here are some items and web sites you might want to put on your dance card.
Focus on technology
Spread spectrum technology leader H. Britton Sanderford, Jr., founder and president of Axonn Corp. is the keynote speaker for the event (www.isa.org). Sanderford plans to explore the attributes of spread spectrum technology that are essential for successful data acquisition systems and review field experiences from various wire-free applications (www.axonn.com).
More than 60 companies are debuting their newest offerings at the event. Within the new product showcase are the latest in instrumentation, systems, automation products, equipment, and technologies. Take a few minutes to check out www. nano.com, an information exchange tool that works intuitively, organizing the web in a way that makes sense. The software can be downloaded free and used to search the internet selectively.
Once the software is in place, the user activates it by right clicking his mouse and choosing the nano option. Nano immediately pops up and displays information related to the topic on the screen.
