Submersible pump has built-in protection

By Staff -- Plant Engineering, 11/1/1999

Magnum is an 80-hp, heavy duty submersible pump that outperforms larger models. It delivers up to 5010 gpm and reaches up to 375 ft of lift. An air valve allows the pump to run dry without damage to the motor. "Smart" modulation protects the pump against running backwards, single phasing, and overheating. A sensor detects any humidity in the stator, protecting it from burning up.
