Ice-bank saves air dryer energy

By Staff -- Plant Engineering, 11/1/1999

ICE 2000 refrigerated compressed air dryer saves energy when operating at less than maximum capacity. Whenever the compressed air load is reduced, the unit automatically starts to build an ice-bank, When the ice-bank is sufficient to balance the compressed air load, the refrigeration system is switched off and the compressed air melts the ice-bank while the air is cooled to a constant dew point.
