Find 2007 Product of the Year, Top Plant applications on line

Staff -- Plant Engineering, 8/15/2007 1:00:00 AM

September is the entry deadline for the 2007 Product of the Year and Top Plant awards, and applications for both awards are now available at www.PlantEngineering.com.

Top Plant honors the outstanding manufacturing facilities in the U.S. Editors will review the applications and schedule plant visits among the finalists. The winners will be announced in the December issue of PLANT ENGINEERING, and will be honored at PLANT ENGINEERING’s Manufacturing Summit in Chicago this spring.

The Top Plant entry deadline has been extended to Sept. 1. The 2006 winners were BMW, Square D and Toyota.

This year is the 20th anniversary for Product of the Year, the industry’s most prestigious award for innovation in manufacturing products. Companies can nominate their products in one of 18 categories, and a jury of industry experts will select 150 finalists. From there, PLANT ENGINEERING’s readers take over, with online voting to select the gold, silver and bronze winners in each category. The winners will be honored at the Manufacturing Summit, and the product that receives the most votes from readers will receive the Grand Award. The 2006 Grand Award winner was Baldor Electric.

Entry deadline for Product of the Year is Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. CST. The 150 finalists will be featured in the November issue of PLANT ENGINEERING, the magazine’s 60th anniversary issue.
