The best of 2006’s product innovation are presented in the 19th annual PLANT ENGINEERING Product of the Year balloting. Picking this year’s winners is now in our readers’ hands. Literally.

This year’s balloting will be conducted electronically. Each of PLANT ENGINEERING’s qualified subscribers – those who have told us they have buy/specify responsibilities in their plants – will receive an email with a link to this year’s ballot. There will also be a copy of the pages on which the products appear for readers to review while placing their votes.

Voting takes just a few clicks, but the voting is important. For 19 years, Product of the Year has been a prestigious honor bestowed only on those manufacturers who have created the best new ideas that make plant management better, faster and smarter.

Those products have already been reviewed by our panel of plant management experts, and they have narrowed the field to 125 finalists in 17 categories. An alphabetical list of finalists is available on pages 92 and 93.

The votes are tabulated to pick gold, silver and bronze winners in each category. The one product with the highest single vote total will receive the Grand Award, won in 2005 by New Standard Institute.

The Product of the Year awards will be presented at a gala dinner as part of PLANT ENGINEERING’s first Strategic Manufacturing Summit in March.
